Browns Acquire Defensive Tackle Patrick Jenkins from Jets
The Cleveland Browns have announced the acquisition of defensive tackle Patrick Jenkins from the New York Jets after claiming him off waivers on Friday.
Jenkins, who is 22 years old, was a notable four-star recruit and ranked as the No. 16 defensive tackle in the 2020 recruiting class. He originally committed to Texas Christian University (TCU) before transferring to Tulane, where he played for three seasons.
After going undrafted last year, Jenkins signed with the Arizona Cardinals but was waived during the preseason. He then spent time on the practice squad of the Atlanta Falcons before recently signing with the Jets. During his time at Tulane, Jenkins participated in 41 games, accumulating 107 tackles, 28 tackles for loss, 13 sacks, two passes defended, and one forced fumble.
