Browns Coach Discusses Preseason Plans for Quarterbacks Sanders and Watson
As the Cleveland Browns prepare for their preseason opener against the Chicago Bears on Saturday, quarterbacks Shedeur Sanders and Deshaun Watson remain uncertain about who will start. Head coach Todd Monken confirmed plans for both players during a press conference on Wednesday.
Monken stated that one quarterback will start against the Bears, while the other will take the lead in the following week’s game against the Buffalo Bills. Each quarterback is expected to play a half and participate in a two-minute drill. The player not starting in the first two games will play the third quarter of those contests.
Monken emphasized the importance of having a solid offensive line to support the quarterbacks during the games. He noted that the starting offensive line will play for much of the first half alongside the starting quarterback. The decision on who will be the starting quarterback for the Bears game is still pending.
