Browns Set to Sign Defensive End Za'Darius Smith
The Cleveland Browns are reportedly on the verge of signing defensive end Za'Darius Smith, a three-time Pro Bowl player, according to a report from Cleveland.com.
Smith is anticipated to travel to Cleveland to complete the contract on Sunday, following a tryout with the team three days prior. He will enhance a pass rush that already includes Jared Verse, Alex Wright, and Isaiah McGuire.
At 34 years old, Smith previously announced his retirement from the NFL in October 2025. Last season, he played five games with the Philadelphia Eagles, recording 10 tackles, three quarterback hits, and 1.5 sacks. Over his career, he has achieved 70.5 sacks and 343 tackles across 145 games, having played for teams including the Baltimore Ravens, Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings, and others.
