Bruno Guimaraes Joins Arsenal in £75m Transfer from Newcastle
Arsenal has completed the signing of midfielder Bruno Guimaraes from Newcastle for a fee of £75 million. The 28-year-old has signed a four-year contract with an option for an additional year.
Guimaraes, who expressed a desire to leave Newcastle, had two years remaining on his contract. His transfer follows a summer during which Newcastle has sold over £240 million worth of players, including Anthony Gordon and Sandro Tonali.
Newcastle had aimed to retain Guimaraes, but he indicated his wish to join Arsenal if a suitable offer was made. The agreed fee ranks among the highest ever for a player aged 28 or older. Guimaraes previously joined Newcastle from Lyon in 2022 for £40 million, making 195 appearances and scoring 31 goals during his time with the club.
