Bruno Guimaraes Set to Join Arsenal as Newcastle Manager Discusses Future
Newcastle United's manager Matthias Jaissle has stated that a decision about Bruno Guimaraes' future was already made before their first meeting. Guimaraes is expected to finalize a £75 million transfer to Arsenal following successful negotiations.
Jaissle met briefly with Guimaraes during the club's training camp in Spain, where the midfielder expressed his farewells to teammates and staff. Jaissle acknowledged Guimaraes as a talented player and emphasized the need for the club to adapt to the changes ahead.
Guimaraes will be the fourth significant player to leave Newcastle in under a year, following the departures of Anthony Gordon, Sandro Tonali, and Alexander Isak. Jaissle is focused on rebuilding the team with younger players, having already invested approximately £146 million in new signings. Newcastle's season opener is scheduled against Liverpool at St James' Park on August 23.
