Bryce Rainer: Rising Star for the Detroit Tigers
Bryce Rainer, a promising 21-year-old shortstop for the Detroit Tigers, is currently ranked No. 25 overall and No. 3 within the Tigers' organization. He has demonstrated exceptional bat speed and arm strength, with notable exit velocities and a mid-90s pitching background from high school.
After starting the season with Low-A Lakeland, Rainer has achieved a .267/.374/.455 batting line with 12 home runs in 358 plate appearances for the High-A West Michigan Whitecaps. He was the 11th overall pick in the 2024 draft and has expressed enjoyment in his past pitching experiences, noting that he was successful and threw hard during his time on the mound.
Although there was initial interest in him as a two-way player, the Tigers decided early on to focus on his development as an infielder. Rainer remains committed to his role and feels confident in the decision made by the organization.
