Bubista Resigns as Cape Verde Coach to Join RS Berkane
Bubista has resigned from his position as head coach of Cape Verde to accept a role with Moroccan club RS Berkane. The 56-year-old coach led Cape Verde to the last 32 of the World Cup, where they faced Argentina and lost 3-2 after extra time.
Since taking charge in January 2020, Bubista guided Cape Verde to their first World Cup qualification and reached the quarter-finals of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations. He has signed a two-year contract with RS Berkane, who finished second in the Moroccan league last season and are looking to build on their recent successes.
The Cape Verde Football Federation expressed gratitude for Bubista's contributions and wished him well in his future endeavors. His departure follows a trend of coaching changes among African teams that participated in the World Cup.
