Bueckers Leads Wings to Victory Over Tempo
In Arlington, Texas, Paige Bueckers scored all 22 of her points in the second half, leading the Dallas Wings to a 94-88 victory over the Toronto Tempo on Wednesday. This win handed the expansion Tempo their 10th straight loss.
Bueckers had a standout performance in the second half, going 7 of 11 from the field and making all seven free throws. She contributed eight assists and three steals, including a crucial steal that set up a layup for a 10-point lead late in the game. Arike Ogunbowale also played a key role, scoring 21 points, while Alanna Smith and Awak Kuier added 13 and 14 points, respectively.
The Wings ended a three-game losing streak despite missing all-star Jessica Shepard and rookie Azzi Fudd due to injuries. The Tempo, who were without starters Brittney Sykes and Julie Allemand, managed to close the gap to four points in the final minute but could not secure a win.
