Burnley risks setting an unwanted record for the longest home winless streak in English football if they do not defeat Portsmouth on October 31.
Burnley is on the verge of establishing a negative record in English football as they prepare to face Portsmouth in their upcoming home match on October 31.
The team has not secured a victory in their last 21 home league matches, with their last win occurring against Leeds United on October 18, 2025. If they fail to win against Portsmouth, they will surpass Sheffield Wednesday's record of 376 days without a home league win.
Since their last victory, Burnley has recorded 10 draws and 11 losses in their home league games, including six matches in the current Championship season. They did achieve a win in the FA Cup at Turf Moor in January 2026 but were eliminated in the following round, adding to their home defeat tally.
