Butch Harmon Shares Phil Mickelson's Generous Gift After 2007 Players Championship Win

Butch Harmon disclosed that Phil Mickelson presented him with a $100,000 check after winning The Players Championship in 2007. At the time, Mickelson had doubts about his ability to succeed at TPC Sawgrass, having previously experienced more missed cuts than top-10 finishes at the venue.

Despite his concerns, Mickelson triumphed by two strokes, marking a significant achievement in his career. Harmon recounted how Mickelson, after their short time working together, expressed his gratitude by inviting Harmon back to the clubhouse to thank him personally.

Harmon, who has coached numerous top golfers, noted Mickelson's generosity and shared that other players, including Adam Scott and Rory McIlroy, have also reached out to him after their major victories, acknowledging his influence on their careers.
