Cade Klubnik Impresses in Jets Preseason Opener
Cade Klubnik was unexpectedly named the starting quarterback for the Jets in their preseason opener against the Buccaneers, following Geno Smith's ankle injury.
Klubnik played two drives, completing 5 of 7 passes for 56 yards and leading the team to score 10 points. Head coach Aaron Glenn noted that Klubnik's performance mirrored his confidence and moxie displayed during his college career at Clemson, although he acknowledged that there are areas for improvement.
Glenn remarked that while it was a positive outing for Klubnik, it was important to remember that it was just a preseason game, and the Buccaneers did not field their starters, which should temper expectations regarding the rookie's performance.
