Cadillac Appoints Marcin Budkowski as New Formula 1 Team Principal

Cadillac has announced the dismissal of Graeme Lowdon as its Formula 1 team principal, appointing Marcin Budkowski, a former executive director at Alpine, as his successor. This leadership change occurs midway through Cadillac's debut season in Formula 1.

The transition took effect during the summer break, with Budkowski set to lead Cadillac's racing operations at the upcoming Dutch Grand Prix. Dan Towriss, CEO of TWG Motorsports, confirmed that Lowdon's departure was not mutual and that he was informed of the decision on the day it was announced. Towriss indicated that the decision was made after months of consideration regarding the team's future development.

Lowdon had been with Cadillac for nearly four years, playing a crucial role in establishing the team before its entry into Formula 1. Cadillac currently sits last in the constructors' championship, having not scored any points in 11 races. Budkowski, who has extensive experience in Formula 1, will focus on car development and race execution, aiming to enhance the team's performance moving forward.
