Caleb Douglas Shines in Return for Miami Dolphins
Caleb Douglas, a third-round rookie, played a pivotal role in the Miami Dolphins' first victory of the season against the New York Jets. With under five minutes left in the fourth quarter and the Dolphins leading by four points, Douglas caught a challenging pass from Malik Willis and sprinted 63 yards for a touchdown.
This touchdown was crucial as the Dolphins were seeking their first win after starting the season 0-5, and Douglas had just returned from an ankle injury that sidelined him for three games. He initially injured his ankle in Week 2 against the San Francisco 49ers.
In addition to his game-winning touchdown, Douglas contributed significantly with a total of 70 receiving yards, second only to teammate Greg Dulcich. He also scored a touchdown in the first quarter, giving the Dolphins an early lead. Douglas' performance highlights the potential of Miami's young roster as they prepare for their next challenge against the New England Patriots on November 1.
