Caleb Williams Defies NFL Fines Over Caddix Cleats
Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams received an $11,941 fine from the NFL for wearing Caddix cleats during the game against the Atlanta Falcons on October 18, marking his return from a hamstring injury.
Williams had previously worn white Caddix cleats without issue, but the black pair he used against the Falcons displayed the logo prominently, leading to the fine. He intends to keep wearing the cleats, citing their design as beneficial for his performance and injury prevention.
Caddix, a Baltimore-based company, has stated it will cover any fines Williams incurs for wearing their shoes. This arrangement allows the brand to gain visibility in the NFL, despite the league's restrictions on logo displays. Williams has until October 30 to appeal the fine from the Falcons game, with no additional fines announced for the following game against the New England Patriots.
