Caleb Williams Expected to Return for Bears' Week 6 Matchup Against Falcons
Caleb Williams, the starting quarterback for the Chicago Bears, is anticipated to return for the team's Week 6 game against the Atlanta Falcons on October 18. This update follows a recent loss to the Green Bay Packers, where head coach Ben Johnson indicated that Williams' status was uncertain.
During a Tuesday segment on a sports show, NFL insider Ian Rapoport reported that Williams' chances of playing this week appear favorable. He has been recovering from a Grade 2 hamstring strain sustained on September 20. Prior to the Bears' recent defeat, Williams participated in a pregame workout, showing positive signs of recovery.
Backup quarterbacks Case Keenum and Tyson Bagent had stepped in during Williams' absence, leading the team to two victories. However, Bagent struggled in the game against the Packers, prompting concerns about rushing Williams back into action. Rapoport clarified that the injury was expected to take three to four weeks to heal, suggesting that Williams is on track for a return this weekend.
