Caleb Williams Shows Improvement in Accuracy, Says Bears' Ben Johnson
Ben Johnson, head coach of the Chicago Bears, provided an update on quarterback Caleb Williams, noting that he is showing improvement in his accuracy as he enters his third season. Johnson highlighted that Williams has been trending upward in his development, particularly during recent practices.
During a press conference, Johnson mentioned that Williams has made significant strides, especially in red zone situations, which were emphasized in practice. Last season, the duo of Williams and Johnson led the Bears to seven comeback victories, although Williams finished with a completion percentage of 58.1, ranking him near the bottom among qualified quarterbacks.
Johnson expressed his ambition for the Bears to achieve the highest-scoring offense in history, indicating that Williams will need to improve his completion rate to meet this goal. The quarterback has been focusing on precision during practice, and his first chance to demonstrate his progress will be in the season opener against the Carolina Panthers on September 13.
