Callaway Ends Partnership with Good Good Amid Backlash
Callaway, a golf club manufacturer, has immediately ended its partnership with content creator Good Good after facing backlash over a controversial video. The video depicted a woman being pushed to the ground, which led to accusations of trivializing violence against women.
Good Good, known for its popular YouTube channel with over 2 million subscribers, had created the advertisement for Callaway last week. Following the criticism, both companies removed the video and issued apologies. Additionally, Good Good has withdrawn from sponsoring a PGA Tour event in Austin, Texas, scheduled for November.
In a statement, Callaway acknowledged shortcomings in its content review process and expressed regret for the hurt caused by the video. The company announced a donation of $1 million to organizations focused on preventing violence against women and supporting victims. Callaway emphasized that violence against women is unacceptable and should not be trivialized.
