Calum Scanlon Returns to Cardiff City on Loan from Liverpool

Calum Scanlon has returned to Cardiff City on a season-long loan from Liverpool for the 2026-27 Championship season. The 21-year-old left-back previously played for Cardiff, helping the team secure promotion back to the Championship after joining in February.

During his last spell, Scanlon made eight appearances in League One. His return is intended to strengthen the squad as Cardiff prepares for their league opener against Wrexham. Scanlon expressed enthusiasm about making new memories at the club following his new contract with Liverpool.

Before rejoining Cardiff, Scanlon participated in pre-season with Liverpool and is eager to gain more senior experience. He will compete for playing time with teammate Joel Bagan. This move marks Cardiff's third senior signing of the summer.
