Campagnolo Sells Minority Stake to SPAC SA for Strategic Investment
Campagnolo has announced the sale of a minority stake in the company to outside investors, marking a significant shift for the family-owned business. This decision follows internal restructuring efforts earlier this year aimed at avoiding layoffs.
The company previously indicated a challenging financial outlook, despite positive results from its new 13-speed platform. Campagnolo's restructuring focused on streamlining operations, but cost-cutting alone may not have been sufficient for recovery.
With this new investment agreement with SPAC SA, which is described as a private strategic holding company, Campagnolo aims to enhance its technological and product capabilities. The family will retain majority control, ensuring the company remains independent from other cycling brands, including Pinarello, which is also part of SPAC SA's portfolio.
