Canada Secures Spot in Hlinka Gretzky Cup Final Against the United States

Canada triumphed over Finland with a score of 6-3 in the semifinals of the Hlinka Gretzky Cup held on Friday in Edmonton, securing a place in the final against the United States.

The match saw Canada break a 2-2 tie early in the third period, scoring two quick goals. Benjamin Veitch led the Canadian team with two goals, including one into an empty net, while Malik L'Italien, Landon DuPont, Jaakko Wycisk, and Kayden Stroeder also contributed to the score. Finland's Olli Kylmala netted two goals, and Max Poikela added another.

Canada outshot Finland 34-25, with Leif Oaten making 22 saves for Canada. The final match on Saturday will be a rematch against the United States, who eliminated Canada in last year's semifinals, ending a three-year gold medal streak for the team.
