The Canadian women's volleyball team achieved a historic milestone by winning its first NORCECA continental championship, defeating the United States 3-2 in the final held in the Dominican Republic.

This victory, marked by set scores of 25-23, 25-23, 20-25, 18-25, and 15-10, also secured Canada a place in the upcoming Olympic qualifier, where they will compete for a spot in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

Canada, currently ranked eighth in the world, will face Puerto Rico, while the Dominican Republic will meet Cuba in the qualifiers. Anna Smrek led the Canadian team with 20 points, and Kacey Jost was named the tournament's most valuable player. Coach Giovanni Guidetti emphasized the importance of focusing on the upcoming matches after their championship win.
