Canyon Launches Third-Generation Grail with Enhanced Tire Clearance and Aero Features
The third-generation Canyon Grail has been launched, offering build options at CFR, CF SLX, and CF price points. This model boasts a frame weight of 989g and claims reduced aerodynamic drag compared to previous models.
A significant upgrade is the increased tire clearance, now accommodating up to 57mm tires, compared to the previous model's 42mm limit. Canyon asserts that the new bike is faster, achieving 5.7 watts of improvement at 35 km/h with a 40mm tire, and 2.1 watts faster with a 55mm tire compared to the older model.
The design includes a 435mm chainstay and a 71.5-degree head tube angle, enhancing stability. Canyon has shifted to a 1x-only platform to create more space for larger tires, while also modifying the geometry for better performance. The bike features a new carbon wheelset and an adjustable cockpit system, catering to the needs of gravel racers.
