Cardiff City Manager Anticipates New Signing Ahead of Cup Match
Cardiff City manager Brian Barry-Murphy is hopeful that the team will secure a new signing before their Carabao Cup second-round match against Norwich City on August 25.
Barry-Murphy indicated that the club is actively seeking to strengthen their defense, particularly in light of injuries that have left them without a recognized centre-back during their recent 2-2 draw at Derby County. Full-backs Perry Ng and Joel Bagan had to step in to fill the gap due to injuries to Gabriel Osho, Dylan Lawlor, Calum Chambers, and Will Fish.
Despite the injury challenges, Barry-Murphy expressed confidence in the team's performance and their ability to improve as the season progresses. He noted that Cardiff City has made only a few signings this season, including goalkeeper Nathan Trott and attacker Jack Moylan, while also bringing back Calum Scanlon on loan from Liverpool. The manager remains optimistic about the team's growth in the Championship.
