Cardiff's Principality Stadium to Host Women's Champions League Final in 2029
Uefa has confirmed that Cardiff's Principality Stadium will be the venue for the women's Champions League final in 2029. This stadium, which has a capacity of 73,931, previously hosted the men's final in 2017.
The Football Association of Wales (FAW) chief executive Noel Mooney expressed enthusiasm for the announcement, highlighting its potential to enhance the women's game in Wales. The event will be referred to as the National Stadium of Wales to meet Uefa's sponsorship requirements.
This announcement follows the 2019 women's Champions League final held at Cardiff City Stadium, where Lyon triumphed over Paris Saint-Germain. The Principality Stadium, owned by the Welsh Rugby Union, has also hosted other significant events, including the FA Community Shield earlier this year.
