Cardinals Place Hunter Dobbins on 15-Day Injured List
The St. Louis Cardinals have announced that right-handed pitcher Hunter Dobbins is now on the 15-day injured list due to tightness in his throwing forearm. This decision follows the placement of fellow pitcher Andre Pallante on the injured list just a day earlier.
Dobbins experienced discomfort during his last outing against the Philadelphia Phillies, where he allowed three runs over four innings before leaving the game after his first pitch in the fifth inning. Although forearm tightness can be concerning, Dobbins expressed confidence that his current condition differs from previous injuries, including a past Tommy John surgery.
In response to Dobbins' injury, the Cardinals have called up southpaw Quinn Mathews from Triple-A, who will start in today's game. The team is also considering other options from their minor league roster to address the sudden shortage in their pitching rotation.
