Cardinals Sign Outfielder Bligh Madris to Minor League Contract
The St. Louis Cardinals played against the Cincinnati Reds on Wednesday at Great American Ball Park, aiming to build on their recent success following a shutout win the previous night.
After defeating the Reds 3-0 on Tuesday, the Cardinals improved their record to 65-62, placing them third in the National League Central. They have been performing well lately, with a 7-3 record in their last ten games and a solid 33-28 record in road games this season.
In addition to their on-field efforts, the Cardinals signed outfielder Bligh Madris to a minor league contract, assigning him to the Triple-A Memphis Redbirds. Madris, who previously played for the Cardinals earlier in the season before being released, had a strong .908 OPS in 71 Triple-A games. His experience in the major leagues with teams like the Pittsburgh Pirates, Houston Astros, and Detroit Tigers adds depth to the organization as they approach the final stretch of the season.
