Alcaraz's last match was on April 14, where he secured a victory against Otto Virtanen at the Barcelona Open. He had to withdraw from subsequent tournaments, including the 2026 French Open and Wimbledon, due to a right wrist injury.

The singles draws for the U.S. Open are scheduled for August 27 in Flushing, New York, with main draw matches taking place from August 30 to September 13 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. Despite his absence, Alcaraz remains ranked No. 2 in the ATP Tour singles rankings.
