Carlos Prates Responds to Islam Makhachev's UFC 336 Withdrawal

Carlos Prates, the top contender in the UFC welterweight division, reacts to the news of Islam Makhachev's withdrawal from UFC 336, sharing a memorable Nate Diaz moment.

Carlos Prates, a Brazilian fighter, has solidified his position as the number one contender in the UFC welterweight division, setting the stage for a potential matchup with Islam Makhachev.

Prates moved ahead of Michael Morales following his knockout victory over former champion Jack Della Maddalena in May. Initially, it seemed that Prates would face Makhachev at UFC 336 in Toronto next January, especially after Makhachev's win against Ian Machado Garry at UFC 330.

However, recent reports confirmed that Makhachev will not compete on that date, prompting Prates to share a clip from Nate Diaz's famous interview after UFC 196, expressing his lack of surprise at the news. The UFC's plans for the January event remain uncertain, and there are suggestions that Prates could still fight for an interim title.
