Carlos Sainz Confirms Commitment to Williams Amid Audi Speculation

Carlos Sainz has dismissed speculation regarding a possible transfer to Audi for the 2027 Formula 1 season, confirming his commitment to the Williams team after signing a new multi-year contract. This announcement follows a challenging season for Williams, which has struggled to score points in recent races.

Sainz, who signed his new deal alongside teammate Alexander Albon, stated that he never seriously considered leaving Williams, despite previous discussions with both Williams and Audi after losing his Ferrari seat before the 2025 season. He emphasized that the rumors circulating in the paddock were unfounded.

While Albon's contract extends only to 2027, Sainz's agreement suggests a commitment that may last until at least 2028. He expressed a strong desire to remain with the team during difficult times, indicating that he is dedicated to helping Williams improve its performance.
