After achieving two podium finishes in 2025, expectations were high for the new season. However, Williams encountered difficulties during pre-season testing in Bahrain, having missed earlier private testing in Barcelona and dealing with an overweight car.

Despite these challenges, Williams has secured contract extensions for both drivers, Alex Albon and Sainz.
