Carlton Targets Free Agents Amartey and Khamis in Off-Season Plans
Carlton Football Club is actively pursuing free agents Joel Amartey and Buku Khamis for the upcoming off-season, as confirmed by CEO Graham Wright.
Amartey, currently with Sydney, is considering lucrative offers from multiple clubs while recovering from a significant achilles injury that sidelined him for most of the season. Carlton has reportedly presented five-year contracts to both players, with Khamis previously being targeted by the club last year before he opted to stay with the Western Bulldogs.
Wright noted that both players remain with their current teams as free agents. Carlton's football boss, Chris Davies, expressed the club's intention to be aggressive in their recruitment efforts despite currently lacking a list manager, a position vacated earlier this year. He emphasized the club's commitment to leveraging existing resources to attract talent while planning for future organizational needs.
