Carolina Panthers Dismiss Coaching Staff After Loss to Packers

The Carolina Panthers have made significant changes to their coaching staff, dismissing defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero and defensive passing game coordinator Jonathan Cooley after a 27-19 loss to the Green Bay Packers.

This marks Evero as the first NFL coordinator to be let go this season. The Panthers, currently with a 3-4 record, have struggled defensively, ranking 22nd overall and last against the run.

In the game against Green Bay, quarterback Jordan Love completed 30 of 41 passes for 288 yards, contributing to the Panthers' defensive woes. Interim defensive coordinator Todd Wash, who joined the team in 2023 and has extensive coaching experience, will take over play-calling duties. Additionally, outside linebackers coach AC Carter will now oversee the defensive line, while secondary coach Renaldo Hill will continue to manage the defensive backs.
