Carragher Critiques Arsenal's Transfer Window Performance
Jamie Carragher has expressed that Arsenal did not secure a top-tier attacking player during the recent transfer window. The Premier League champions attempted to sign Vinicius Junior from Real Madrid and Julian Alvarez from Atletico Madrid but were unsuccessful in finalizing these deals.
Arsenal's only attacking acquisition was Christos Tzolis, who joined from Club Brugge for £34 million. The club also experienced departures, including Leandro Trossard to Besiktas, Gabriel Jesus to Barcelona, and Ethan Nwaneri to Borussia Dortmund. Additionally, Gabriel Martinelli is in discussions regarding a move to Al Hilal.
Carragher acknowledged that while Arsenal has several capable strikers, they lack a player who can elevate their attack significantly. He noted that only a world-class player could enhance the already strong squad, which features multiple players rated as 'seven or eight out of ten'. Despite their efforts, Arsenal could not secure the caliber of player they desired.
