Typically, veteran quarterbacks do not participate in this game, but Beck, a third-round draft pick, is new to the league. With expected sidelined players Jacoby Brissett and Gardner Minshew, Beck is likely to receive the majority of playing time, alongside fourth-stringer Kedon Slovis.

Beck, who previously played in the national championship game for the University of Miami, stated he feels more excitement than nerves ahead of the game against the Panthers. Offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett noted Beck's extensive experience and maturity, emphasizing his ability to handle both good and challenging moments during the game.
