Carson Beck to Miss Preseason Game Due to Rib Injury
Carson Beck, the rookie quarterback for the Arizona Cardinals, will not participate in the preseason game against the Las Vegas Raiders due to a rib injury he incurred during the Hall of Fame Game. This injury will keep him sidelined for at least one week.
Despite practicing through some soreness, the Cardinals have decided to prioritize caution, as the injury is not deemed serious. Veteran quarterback Jacoby Brissett is set to start in Beck's absence, which alters what could have been an intriguing matchup against rookie Fernando Mendoza, who is making his NFL debut.
In his first NFL game, Beck completed 15 of 19 passes for 188 yards, including a touchdown. His performance featured a notable 5-yard touchdown pass to Simi Fehoko. Beck's primary target during the game was Jalen Brooks, who recorded three receptions for 99 yards. If all goes well, Beck is expected to return for the Cardinals' third preseason game against the Dallas Cowboys next Saturday.
