Cason Wallace Expected to Take on Expanded Role with Thunder

Cason Wallace is projected to assume a more significant offensive role in his fourth NBA season with the Oklahoma City Thunder after the team traded Luguentz Dort, Isaiah Joe, and Aaron Wiggins in cost-cutting moves.

Wallace, who is eligible for a rookie scale extension this offseason, expressed his enjoyment of having more on-ball opportunities during a stretch in February when several backcourt players were injured. He reflected on that time as a chance to showcase his skills and contribute to the team's success.

While there is optimism about Wallace's potential as an on-ball creator, analysts suggest that a more realistic goal for him would be to improve his consistency as a three-point shooter. After achieving a 41.9% success rate from beyond the arc in his rookie season, his percentage declined to 35.6% in his second year and further to 35.1% last season.
