Cavern Club and Magical Mystery Tour in Liverpool Sold After 35 Years

The Cavern Club and Magical Mystery Tour in Liverpool have new ownership after 35 years, with the group 14 Collective acquiring Cavern City Tours, which includes the Cavern Pub and Restaurant.

Julia Baird, sister of John Lennon and a previous owner, expressed mixed feelings about the sale, noting sadness but also optimism for the future of the iconic music venue. The original Cavern Club, where The Beatles performed 292 times, closed in 1973, but a replica was established in 1984, attracting around a million visitors annually.

Bill Heckle, managing director of Cavern City Tours, stated that the decision to sell was difficult but necessary as he approaches retirement. He emphasized the importance of finding a suitable buyer who shares the vision for the venue's legacy. The new owners, 14 Collective, expressed enthusiasm for continuing the club's tradition and working with the existing management team.
