
Cedric Sbirrazzuoli, Prominent GT Racer, Passes Away at 39
Cedric Sbirrazzuoli, a well-known Monegasque driver in endurance and GT racing, passed away on August 20, which was also his 39th birthday. His death followed a diagnosis of cancer, and he is survived by his wife Martina, whom he married in June.
Sbirrazzuoli began his racing career in the mid-2000s, initially in single-seaters before transitioning to closed-wheel racing. He participated in various series, including GT4, GT2, and the Porsche Carrera Cup, and later competed in the Maserati Trophy and Lamborghini Super Trofeo. His partnership with AF Corse allowed him to drive for Ferrari, where he raced models such as the 458 Italia GT3 and the 488.
Throughout his career, Sbirrazzuoli participated in numerous prestigious events, including the European and Asian LMS, the GT World Challenge, and the Italian GT Championship. In 2024, he raced in the IMSA Endurance Cup with Conquest Racing, achieving podium finishes at Daytona and Watkins Glen, and winning the Petit Le Mans. Tributes from colleagues highlighted his talent, determination, and the positive impact he had on those around him.
