CeeDee Lamb Advocates for George Pickens' Contract Extension

CeeDee Lamb, a wide receiver for the Dallas Cowboys, has expressed his belief that the team should have the financial capacity to extend the contract of fellow wideout George Pickens. Pickens is currently on a one-year franchise tag worth $27.298 million for the 2026 season after the deadline for an extension passed earlier this year.

As a second-round pick in 2022, Pickens will be eligible for a significant extension in 2027 when he becomes a free agent, with Spotrac estimating his market value at four years and $122.42 million. Lamb, who is in the third year of a four-year, $136 million deal, acknowledged that investing heavily in two players at the same position could complicate the Cowboys' roster-building efforts.

Despite the financial implications, Lamb remains optimistic about the possibility of making it work, urging team owner Jerry Jones to find a solution. The Cowboys' offensive strategy could benefit from the combination of Lamb and Pickens, who together amassed over 2,500 receiving yards in the previous season. However, the team must weigh the risks of a large investment in another wide receiver against their overall roster needs.
