Celebrating Dan Marino's 65th Birthday and NFL Quiz Challenge

Dan Marino, the renowned nine-time Pro Bowler and 1984 AP MVP, marks his 65th birthday today. He is also a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2005.

Drafted 27th overall by the Miami Dolphins in 1983, Marino became the starting quarterback and quickly set numerous records. In 1984, he achieved NFL highs with 48 passing touchdowns and 5,084 yards, leading the league in both categories for three consecutive seasons from 1984 to 1986.

Despite his impressive career, Marino retired without a Super Bowl victory, having thrown for 318 yards in his only appearance in the championship game against San Francisco. He concluded his 17-year career with the Dolphins in 1999, accumulating 61,361 yards and 420 touchdowns. To commemorate his birthday, a quiz challenges fans to name all the players who have received the AP Offensive Player of the Year award since its inception in 1972.
