Sandoval debuted in Major League Baseball with the San Francisco Giants and played a key role in their success during the 2010s, contributing to their World Series victories in 2010, 2012, and 2014. He was the team's primary third baseman from 2009 to 2014, achieving notable success in 2011 and 2012 when he was selected as an All-Star in consecutive years.

In the 2012 postseason, Sandoval had an impressive performance, batting .364 with six home runs and 13 RBIs over 16 games. Notably, he hit three home runs in Game 1 of the World Series against the Detroit Tigers, helping the Giants secure a sweep. Sandoval later played for the Boston Red Sox and the Atlanta Braves before returning to the Giants.
