Celebrating Roger Clemens on His 64th Birthday

Roger Clemens, known as 'Rocket,' is celebrating his 64th birthday today. He is recognized as one of the most dominant pitchers in baseball history, having won seven Cy Young Awards and two World Series championships.

Clemens had a standout career, highlighted by a remarkable 1986 season where he achieved a 24-4 record and an American League-best 2.48 ERA, along with 238 strikeouts. Over his 24-year career, he recorded 12 seasons with over 200 strikeouts, peaking at 292 strikeouts in 1997 while playing for the Blue Jays.

Despite his impressive achievements, including being among the top ten in MLB history for strikeouts, games started, and wins, Clemens did not secure a World Series title until he joined the New York Yankees in the late 1990s. He won championships in 1999 and 2000, with a notable incident occurring during the 2000 Subway Series against the Mets. After his time with the Yankees, he made additional All-Star appearances and returned to retire with the team in 2007.
