Celtic, Rangers, Brighton, and Others Learn Play-off Opponents in European Competitions
The draws for the Champions League, Europa League, and Conference League play-offs were held recently, revealing the matchups for several clubs including Celtic, Rangers, and Brighton.
Celtic will compete against Austrian champions LASK for a chance to enter the Champions League league phase, with the first leg scheduled for August 18 or 19 and the return leg on August 25 or 26. Brighton, finishing eighth in the Premier League last season, will face either CFR Cluj or Tromso in the Conference League play-offs, with their matches set for August 20 and 27.
Rangers will play Jagiellonia Bialystok in the Europa League third round, with the first leg this Thursday. If successful, they will advance to face either Larne or Iberia 1999. Hearts, who dropped to the Europa League after their Champions League exit, will meet AGF Aarhus or Sabah, contingent on overcoming Benfica first. Both clubs have requested postponements for their league matches scheduled between the play-off legs.
