Celtic Signs Midfielder Mika Baur from Paderborn on Four-Year Deal

Celtic has announced the signing of midfielder Mika Baur from Paderborn on an initial four-year contract, with an option for an additional year. This transfer marks Celtic's fourth signing of the summer, following Camilo Duran, Kasper Hogh, and Haissem Hassan.

The 22-year-old Baur joins the Scottish club for a fee of approximately £6.8 million, which includes an initial payment of around £4.5 million and potential add-ons of £2.3 million. Last season, he contributed significantly to Paderborn's promotion to the Bundesliga, scoring four goals and providing five assists in 33 league matches, earning the title of the club's player of the year.

Baur, who began his career at Freiburg before moving to Paderborn in 2024, could be eligible for Celtic's Champions League squad as they prepare to face LASK Linz in their upcoming play-off. His previous club was eager to retain him due to his pivotal role in their promotion.
