As part of the trade that sent Jaylen Brown to the Philadelphia 76ers, the Celtics acquired a first-round pick swap for the 2028 draft that originally belonged to the Clippers. Boston will receive the better pick if the Clippers finish between 1 and 16 in the lottery and the Sixers are between 1 and 8. If the Clippers fall between 17 and 30 and the Sixers are between 9 and 30, the Celtics will obtain the Clippers' pick outright.
Robb indicates that the sanctions from Commissioner Adam Silver increase the likelihood of the Clippers being a lottery team in the 2027/28 season, potentially providing the Celtics with a high draft pick to enhance their roster or a valuable asset for future trades.
