CFL West Semifinal: Lions Face Roughriders in Playoff Clash
The B.C. Lions will host the Saskatchewan Roughriders on Saturday for the CFL West semifinal, continuing their playoff rivalry for the third consecutive year. Both teams finished the regular season with a record of 10-8.
Last year, the Roughriders defeated the Lions 24-21 in the West final, while in 2024, they won 28-19 in the West semifinal. This matchup will take place at BC Place at 4:30 p.m. ET, with the Lions favored by 6.5 points. The winner will advance to face the Edmonton Elks in the West final on November 7.
The Lions have been strong in the latter part of the season, winning nine of their last 12 games after a slow start. In contrast, the Roughriders struggled after Labour Day but secured their playoff spot with two late victories. Key players to watch include Lions quarterback Nathan Rourke and Roughriders running back AJ Ouellette, both of whom will be crucial to their teams' success.
