
Champions Crowned at the 60th Sea Harvest South African Championships
The 60th Sea Harvest South African Open Championships wrapped up at Long Beach, Kommetjie, showcasing a milestone event in South African surfing history.
After three days of competition, Emily Jenkinson from Cape Town Surfriders and Daniel Emslie of Buffalo City Surfriders claimed the titles for the 2026 South African Open Women’s and Men’s Championships. Cape Town Surfriders also secured the overall South African Team title with 30,580 points, surpassing Buffalo City Surfriders, who finished with 28,510 points.
The event featured a mobile format that allowed for adjustments based on changing weather and ocean conditions, providing ideal surfing opportunities throughout. The Championships celebrated not only individual achievements but also the community spirit of South African surfing, culminating in a successful 60th edition.
