Champions League Yellow Card Suspension Rules Explained
This season's Champions League has specific rules regarding yellow card suspensions. Players will face a one-match ban after accumulating four yellow cards, a regulation that is in effect from the start of the league phase until the conclusion of the quarter-finals.
Following the quarter-finals, all yellow cards are reset, meaning players cannot be suspended for receiving multiple yellow cards thereafter. Similar rules apply to the Europa League and the Conference League. As of the third round of matches, five players have already received two yellow cards, putting them two cautions away from a suspension.
Additionally, players can be suspended for reaching six, eight, or ten yellow cards, with a one-match ban imposed for every even number of yellow cards beyond four.
