Chargers Add WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling to Practice Squad

The Los Angeles Chargers have signed wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling to their practice squad, according to a report by Jeremy Fowler from ESPN.

Valdes-Scantling, who is 31 years old, was released by the Dallas Cowboys after spending training camp with them. The Chargers are looking to bolster their receiving corps due to injuries affecting players such as Ladd McConkey, KeAndre Lambert-Smith, and Derius Derives, with Lambert-Smith recently placed on injured reserve.

To fill the gap left by Lambert-Smith, the Chargers have also signed wide receiver Gary Jennings from their practice squad. Valdes-Scantling was originally drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the fifth round of the 2018 NFL Draft and has played for several teams, including the Chiefs, Bills, Saints, 49ers, and Steelers, accumulating 219 receptions for 3,686 yards and 21 touchdowns throughout his career.
