Chargers Sign Quarterback Jake Browning Amid Injury Concerns
The Los Angeles Chargers have signed quarterback Jake Browning as they seek to bolster their roster following Trey Lance's placement on injured reserve due to a groin injury.
In addition to Browning, the Chargers evaluated several players, including quarterbacks Kyle Trask and others, before finalizing their decision. While the specifics of Browning's contract remain unclear, it is not yet known if he will join the active roster or the practice squad.
Currently, Justin Herbert and DJ Uiagalelei are the only quarterbacks listed on the Chargers' 53-player roster. Browning, who is 30 years old, previously spent four seasons with the Bengals and was briefly with the Buccaneers before being released during the preseason.
